Shelby Elizabeth Schouwenaars

Born and raised in Ballyglass, Co. Mayo, Ireland.

Shelby was always a scrapper, but she was physically abused by her father and forced to leave home at the age of 16.

She sees herself as the pilgrim, going from place to place, looking for strength and wisdom, and a host who would be kind to her.

She’s a little bit of a romantic, at times playful and funny, but also has a strong core of values that she knows she can never surrender.

When she uncovers a plot by very powerful sorcerers to force possess thousands of people, and meets Jenn Blake, a good-hearted woman willing to give everything to her because she stands for what is right, Shelby knows there’s nothing else she can do but fight.

“There's a split-second right there where ten voices sound off in my head, all mine or me Ma's, or Jenn's or Bob's, that say, 'Do you have any idea what a giant sword is going to do to a human being?'  'Do you know what you're about to do?'  In that split-second, I literally bite down on my own lower lip to the point of drawing blood, because I know there is no turning back now.”
“Well I must be dangerous!  I'm 'the Cricketer!'”
